I could be way off, but, since the shelter faces kinda south and this photo is taken to the left ... could this be a sunrise and not a sunset? Just sayin'. -

I agree with Gray Blazer. Icewater Spring Shelter was to my right on a NOBO hike and facing semi-eastward, so this has to be a sunrise. Pretty nice one too. -

Definitely a sunset. You guys are right that the shelter is off the trail to the right on a NOBO hike. You know NOBO is relative. I stood in front of the Ice Water Springs shelter and watched a pretty sunset on September 11 of this year and have a very similar photo. -
