A buddy of mine has been after me for years to go on a guy's fishing and beer drinking trip for years. They always stay at June Lake which is mentioned somewhere in this thread.
Thousand Island Lake is on my very short list of places to visit. I already have the trail marked from June Lake to Thousand Island Lake.
Somewhere else in this thread there is mention of alternative trails in the vicinity.
I may get out that way one of these days. Maybe October.
