I like these by New Balance

GoLite keeps changing its shorts line up. Look for something like the GoLite Mesa (4 oz) w/ 5" inseam from others who still sell something similar but have the front pockets. I forget the model but I still have two pr that have the brief liner WITH a pocket on each side w/ elasticized waistband w/drawstring that weigh something like 3-4 oz.

I hear ya. i like running shorts with two front pockets, one on each side, BUT WITH NO REAR POCKET(s), too.

I use L.L. Bean Supplex shorts. 100% nylon. 2 deep front pockets. No belt, just a draw string. The lightest ones I could find.
