I only count 12 Germans... They were EVERYWHERE!!!
I wonder how accurate that list really is...
That list is not accurate, i hiked with folks that i know for a fact they summited Katahdan the very same day i did and they are not on that list and neither am I, if that list was accurate it would be about three times that size. RED-DOG
I'm assuming this is the list of people who have turned in 2000 miler applications to the ATC and does not include those who chose not to self report.
The wording on the website is what is incorrect. In the AT Journeys magazine when they list the 2,000 milers they word it something to the affect of "this is the list of 2,000 milers who reported their hike to us in the last year". That list, of course, misses those who do not report their hike to the ATC. It also includes those who yellow blazed, aqua blazed and blue blazed the trail but reported their hike anyway.
Just like most things in life, if you want credit, you have to make sure you do the "paperwork"
Heck, just today I realized my 2,000 miler app sits on my desk in a beautiful envelope awaiting it's journey to the ATC.
