I'll be driving by on the way to Culpeper but you'll be gone by then. I hope you have a lot of hikers to stop by.

Ah, I wish I hadn't moved so far away. And that's very close to the section I formerly maintained.

All who cannot be there wish that they could be there. Is this really an annual event?
If yes, then I will put it on my "must" list for 2012. I know it will be well remembered by all who can attend tomorrow.--Kinnickinic

We are having a picnic with our friends in a parking lot. Done it for several years. It is not an official gathering. Ridgerunner comes by each year as does rangers.

its a bit of a gray area - hopefully the Rangers that check you out will be reasonable

that said what I had heard (rumor) was that "hiker feeds" needed a special use permit

unfortunately the guidelines document for special use permits is missing from the Shen website so there is nothing I would consider "official" that I can refer to

Had a great time, over 20 hikers came through including the ridgerunner ("Midnight" - this is his third year with us) and two rangers who moseyed on by. Also had 2 hikers from Germany. Several had first aid issues. We keep things nice and low keyed. Many hikers stayed all afternoon. SO it was good.
