Happy new year and have a fantastic hike everyone!
51 days to go. i can hardly contain myself!!!
I hate to post this but 2005 will not be my year for a thru-hike. In October I had a problem that cost me much of the use of my right arm. Even after nearly 3 month of physical therepy I am just not ready.
My wife and I have talked about it. Maybe a South Bound would be possible starting in July or August. I would get a chance to see many of you as you head toward the Great Mountain.
In the mean time, Good Luck, God's Speed and Keep Going! I will watch your journals, perhaps we will meet in the 100 Mile Wilderness.

Jim, I wish you the best in your recovery and therapy, keep your dreams alive and let them help your healing.

Everything is exactly as it should be. This too shall pass.
Hey Jim, I was planning for you to do all of the hard trailbreaking for me, sorry you are going to have to wait. Good luck and I'll look for you coming the other way when I get up north. Dave
Jim,
Hang in there. Take your therapy serious so your chances of getting off this year are high. You Texas boys make a quick recovery.
Regards,
