    Default Early April Sightings

Hiked South from Devils fork Gap to Hot Springs yesterday and today, saw a whole bunch of thru's and one SOBO (Ole yeller) finishing at Roan.
Here are some names, cant remember all of em.

    Topp (from Scotland)
2 really fast Brits (didnt get there names)
    Wazy
    Diamond Diggs
    Uncle ?????
Young One ( I believe he is on here)
    Little Dipper
2 other guys that didnt really know what I was talking about when i said Trailnames but they said they were thruing.
Ran into an old hiker that was a good guy name Walker Kentucky Ranger and Sheetmetal, Walker knows these mountains!!!!
there were a slew of females this morning, i also saw that Indywalker was just a half day ahead. Ran into Sofa king for a second but didnt realize it was him til i got to the shelter and saw he had signed the book.
Same stories from the Smokies from all of em, it sucked.

So yea, talked to Wayne at Bluff Mtn and the traffic is up and down right now.

Did some trailmagic up at Beauty Spot today. Sofa King was there along with about 30 other hikers. They all enjoyed themselves. Had Brats, Kabobs, and grilled shrimp with some sides for dessert. Good times were enjoyed by all!

Did some trail magic at Neels Gap on Easter weekend and met lots of thru hikers, Melissa Stylos, Lawdog, the girls from Montana, and many more. On Monday hiked for 3 1/2 days from Dicks Creek to Franklin and met Nemo from Vancouver, Marty, Mike, Zeus, Peaches, 6 toes and his cousin from VMI and many, many more. They were so happy to make it into NC. Then I flipped it and hiked from Springer to Woody Gap and met a whole new crop of thru's. Fields, Jeff form MI, a couple of guys from Brooklyn, a 2006 thru hiker named knockknock that saved my trek poles (THANK YOU knockknock! long story). He was out leading a group from UGA for a section hike. Good luck to all of thru's and their hikes this year!
