Default shakedown hike pre AT - Foothills Trail 7-8 days

Didn't know if any of you 09ers would be interested in doing a 7-8 day shakedown hike of the Foothills Trail in SC. I was thinking sometime in Dec. or Jan would work best for me as I plan on hitting the AT in Feb. Great way to met people, test out gear, test out feet, etc.

I could swing a few days on the trail with ya. Preferably the section from Table Rock to Upper Whitewater Falls. Keep me posted on your hiking date(s).

This will be the perfect shakedown and the views will be great then.
Enjoy, you should have it all to yourself at that time.
That trail is one of the best.

I did the foothills trail in 5 days, no problem. No resupply unless you park a car.

Going to be colder, more strenuous, longer, and more exposed on the BM than the FH at that time of the yr., if any of that matters to U. Thru-hiking the FH next week.

    Okay,

How about Foothills Trail Dec. 12th-19th for any takers on that....

Then, the BM trail starting New Years Eve!!! What a way to start the year sitting on springer with friends!

I'm down with nasty weather...I do cold weather better than I handle nasty maine skeeters!

    comments/suggestions

    feel free

Those skeeters are just trying to provide for their skeeter families. Don't think that just because they are bugs they are not affected by the credit lockdown.

I thought I'd put some life back into this thread..it's been a while since anything's been posted to it.

I've hiked the Foothills the past couple years in March, it's a great trail.
This year I'm gonna have to hike it earlier cause I'm planning to start a thru at Springer in March. It would be an excellent leg stretcher/shakedown trail. I love the Foothills and don't want to miss hiking it this year.
