Was going to hit the AT in Mass, but plans have changed. Does anyone know if the Cattail Shelter site is hammock friendly?

Never heard of that shelter. But if there are trees, you can probably find a place to hang. This is not the desert.

It is on private property, I guess a nearby resident is hiker-friendly so he built a tiny shelter on his property. Not having ever been there, I didn't know if it was in a field, or maybe the owner doesn't want to risk tree damage caused by hammockers that don't use tree huggers.
Okay, Google found a picture of the site - looks to have plenty of trees around it. I wouldn't worry about it.

it is very close to a road though, if that bothers you.. They also have a new designated campsite on Lamentation Mountain that isn't in any guides yet and probably not listed online. No privy at either site.
