The first way (and preferred method) was to just put it on top of all my other gear inside the pack. Although this made the pack taller, it was the most comfortable location bc I couldnt really feel the can against my back at all. I also tried putting the can vertically in the middle of the pack. But without a hardcore back panel I could feel the can inside but gave the pack a smaller profile.
My friends used HMG 2400 packs and they strapped their bv500's to the top. I saw some wacky ways of carrying those cannisters.
I thought going NOBO was probably easier than going SOBO. There are some serious climbs (golden stair case for example) that would really suck going up. It would be amazing to finish on WHitney though. We summited Half Dome and used that as our metaphorical end point!
