Hey guys,
Any Meteorologists out there that have a good predition of what winter in the Sierras is going to be like this year? Super psyched to get out there. Hoping for some good snow trekking next year.

The meteorologists don't have a clue. The El Nino year was supposed to be high snow, but wasn't nearly as snowy as this past winter. Then there's the issue of snow melt. If it is a warm spring, more snow will melt before the hikers arrive. But sometimes it is cold and stays cool so the snow stays on the ground. Then there are the late season snowfalls that also impact hikers. Try asking again next March.
You can control your own weather simply based on your timing.
If you want to snow-trek......go for it.

They can't get this afternoon right.
May is often the month with the heaviest snowfall in the Rockies and the west coast.
Be flexible. You could start in April and have to improvise by May.
Have fun!

The beat rolls on. It's the same every yr looking so deep into the magical meteorologist's crystal ball. Doesn't matter. Shake the PCT 8 ball. Could be a trying time. Clear sailing. Be mindful. Maybe. Too early to tell and too little info given about what you might experience for your hike.
If someone could accurrately predict the Sierra snowfall at this point then they could make some serious cash with farmers and others in the water industry.

Will be sunny on Tuesdays where it wasnt sunny on Wednesdays where the temp didnt change much on the prior three Fridays.
Sounds like a Florida hurricane prediction. It will or it won't. Be prepared for the worst and appreciate the best.
