If you havent already I would recommend you post this to the Appalachian Trail Section Hikers FB page. As a dog lover, I wish you the best of luck.
He will turn up...keep hope alive..I wouldn't worry about a bear messing with him...they are afraid of dogs...

Never give up on your dog.
One of our previous foster dogs escaped from his owners and we have recently learned that he survived the winter in N Wisconsin. Mind you, we spent hundreds of hours from October thru Feb trying to recapture him and he was very elusive. Spotted a couple of times. Found fur, followed tracks and ultimately gave up after Feb as we were finding no signs and the temperatures were just plain brutal.
And he turned up last week.
Yup, don't give up. I found a dog for someone that had been lost for three days about 15 years ago. Other than bug bites, they were fine.
HI everyone-Thank you SO much for the kind words. We just received a call that Muscles has been SPOTTED alive, with his pack and leash still on! he is hiking with a solo male hiker headed northbound. I am so happy I could cry. More details later as we are trying to locate this hiker!
Great news....

Awesome news. Great news. That is the way to start a day. Give him a hug for all those that felt helpless along with you.

Will the hiker get $1000?
If he's a thru....I'm sure he'd be happy with maybe a hotel and a hot meal...

UPDATE: REWARD HAS BEEN BUMPED TO $1,500 cash. Caller this morning has driven and searched 70 miles from area where muscles and male hiker were spotted yesterday. It's been confirmed they were walking along a county road in/near DANDRIDGE TN ---this is where we need more help people. It's clear this guy is on the move as he had a pack on too and the dogs pack was still on. Caller says they were walking in direction of NC. Can you please help spread the word to this area.
I haven't seen this on the Appalachian Trail Section Hikers FB page yet so I went ahead and linked your blog. I think you will get more action/shares/views there. Good luck.
That poor basterd who's walking the dog doesn't even know there's a bounty on his head!!!
