My wife and her friend will be joining me.
What size pack sould I go with. A salesman suggested a 3700-4200 pack but I'm not sure. My wife and her friend plan on using me as a pack mule. I weigh 205 and I'd like to keep my pack down to around 35lbs.

Reason: To get back to basics as we begin our retirement. 17 yrs ago, we quite our jobs, sold our home & and bought a Sailboat. We took our two teens & left from Michigan sailing to the Bahama's, returning a year latter. This experience taught us much about how it's the little things that brings one happiness in life. We look forward to learning this lession again.

Reason: Have wanted to for years. Timing is right for summer '06 (although its gonna be tight)..
Just wanted to let the AT Class of 2006 know that the last ATI being held before the thru-hiking season starts will be from Dec. 16-19 at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, NC (near the trail in the Roan Highlands). Right now, we have ten folks signed up, including nine Class of 2006 potential thru-hikers. More info on the ATI can be found on my website below.
