So, a little story with this picture. Ok, I'll tell the whole story. So, Scrubs and I had stayed up WAY too late with the croo at Lonesome Lake, and we didn't even end up leaving there 'till after 1pm. At a leasurly pace we made it up to Liberty Springs a little to quickly, so we took a long 'lunch' break. And then, of course, we had to go Right at the ridge, and climb Mt. Liberty. BEAUTIFUL view. Anyway, so by the time we actually got onto Franconia Ridge, it was blustery, chilly, and there wasn't a soul in sight. We had the whole darned thing to ourselves as the sun was going down. For both Scrubs and I, this ridge was a sort of spiritual spot. For me, I had hiked the entire trail all the way from Georgia to get to this place, on Lafayette. And the evening light, crystal clear views and crisp air made the whole walk from Georgia worth while. I could have gone home there. My love.
