Approximately one mile after entering Pine Grove Furnace State Park, the A.T. leaves the park and separates from the Cumberland County Biker/Hiker Trail and Old Railroad Bed Road. North of Pine Grove Furnace State Park, the A.T. begins a gradual ascent of Piney Mountain from approximately 850 feet in elevation to over 1400 feet in elevation over the next two miles before gradually descending for another two miles to Tagg Run. This is a view of the trail looking north from a location approximately 1.5 miles north of Pine Grove State Park. SoBo 1083.8 NoBo 1095.3.
