What a beautiful photo - I love to see children hiking, and look at those hiking sticks, is that white birch? I hike with my 8 year old granddaughter. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much. I am sure proud of them!.
I am not sure what the hiking sticks are made of. we bought them at the visitors center for Black Rock Mountain because the kids wanted them. they now take them every time we hike.

Start planning to re-create this shot in about 20 years. I tried to do that with a picture of myself in the middle of Clarendon Gorge, just south of Killington, VT. My brother took a picture of me during our Long Trail thru-hike in August 1979. Three years ago my daughter took a similar picture of me during a short day-hike, but I have to dig it out and post it someday.

They are too cute! I imagine they're all grown up with kids of their own by now, which makes this memory all the more precious.
