Man I remember walking past that church and thinking how awesome it looked, like some old European scene, an ancient church out in the rural areas of Ireland or something. Beautiful.

...reading that link helps explain why. It was made of stone quarried locally. That certainly contributes to the "rooted" sense of the church, how it feels like it belongs there, which you can't get from stone shipped in.
