Our camp always looked like this. Mine was nice and neat and HH's was a mess.

Did the hammock-in-shelter arrangement work okay when there were other occupants and/or the shelter was full to capacity? This seems like it would be a *much* more comfortable arrangement than sleeping on the floor with a relatively thin insulating pad.

I only slept with the hammock in the shelter a couple of times. Either I was the only occupant or there were only a few of us and no minded. It supplied more floor room for more hikers.

I'm looking into hammocks ... mountain rocks in pa making me lose too much sleep.
