Frequently called the highest pond in Maine. About 3500' in the Mahoosuc Range between Mt Speck and The Mahoosuc Arm. The Speck shelter and campsite are on the far side of the pond.

    Hiked in from New Hampshire with my young Bride many a year ago.We stayed about 3 nights there were some great blue berries on the way into camp .I always wanted to get back but haven't yet.

    I see that I commented on this back in 2005. I had the pleasure of reaching Speck Pond in the middle of my September 2012 section hike from Pinkham Notch to Rangeley. It was a lovely day and the pond was perhaps even prettier than this picture.
