You sure we\'re on the AT?

When I was 16, my parents dropped me and my brother (2 bada---d boy scouts) off at Amicalola Falls to hike the AT. Well, we started following the blazes and soon they headed us off into the woods down the side of the mountain. We thought that was strange but we followed the blazes through the thick woods until we came to a highway. The underbrush was too thick on the other side so we hitched back to Amicalola and called our parents to get us. We discovered after that that less than 50 yards beyond those blazes was the actual trail. We had been following the boundary of the National Forest.Talk about Daniel Boobs. I've often wondered if anybody else had done the same thing
