According to Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and other sources, moccasin flower's glandular hairs when touched can produce a rash similiar to poison ivy.

Some may not be aware there is also a white form of this species more likely to be observed in more northerly locations. I've seen white-flowered plants not far from the A.T. in Maine.
