    This is yellow trout lily, an early spring flower. The name derives from the mottling on the leaves, which looks somewhat like the skin of a trout. There are also a few Spring Beauty blossoms in the photo.

    They will also tell you that it is time for the Grammons to hatch and the first top water fly that trout feed on
