The Rock Heads, part of the hiking group from Stone Mountain, GA after they finished their section hike of the Georgia section of the AT. This photo was taken at Blue Ridge Gap, 72.4 miles north of Springer.

I thought I would add this comment:
This group from Stone Mountain, GA told me that they had hiked the entire GA section of the AT as day hikes. Some person(s) in that group had studied maps and scouted out the area so that they could find jeep roads and access trails that limited each hike to mileages that they were comfortable with. I always thought that was a neat accomplishment, for instance when I meet them they had just finished an out & back from Blue Ridge Gap (72.4 miles from Springer) to Bly Gap (75.6 miles from Springer) and back which gave them a comfortable 6.4 mile hike. Pretty clever!
