For northbounders, north of East First Street, PA Rte 174, Boiling Sproings, PA, the A.T.follows a narrow wood line with views of open farm land and residences to the east and west of the trail, and occasionally passes through a clearing. The trail is wide here, and well used by residents taking walks or exercising their dogs. Elevations changes are mild and probably no more than 50 feet.
