Georgia, mid-April, between Gooch Gap and Cooper Gap on Forest Service Rd. 42.

In deep woods the thin branches of blooming dogwoods look like whisps of white clouds. But on the edge of woodlands the trees grow denser and when in bloom they are blindingly white, like this one.
