Description by Irish Eddy
For northbounders, north of the Locust Gap Road crossing (also called Locust Gap Trail) in Pennsylvania, the A.T. traverses an old camping area known as the Locked Antlers Campsite before beginning another ascent between Quarry Hill and Quarry Gap Hill. Just north of the old campsite is this tree that looks like a snake's head with a white blaze and a sign warning hikers that timber rattlesnakes are a protected species in this area. SoBo 1103.9 NoNo 1075.2.
