Thigh deep snow on the blue blaze up to Mt. Rogers. Normally about 30 minutes round trip, it took us close to 2 hours b/c of the deep snow.

I see the photo was posted 3-5-05. Was it taken a few days beforehand? I was in SW Virginia March 2-6, 2005 and also encountered thigh-deep snow on Big Walker Mountain. In fact, the first photos I posted on WB were from my hike there.
