North of Bailey Spring the A.T. makes a gradual ascent from approximately 1300 feet elevation to over 1400 feet elevation but it is barely noticeable. This is a view of the A.T. looking north from a location approximately 0.3 mile north of Bailey Spring. SoBo 1120.4 NoBo 1058.7.

Thanks for the complement, C Seeker. If you were northbound, the next four miles should have been an easy stroll past the Deer Lick Shelters, Antietam Shelter, and Old Forge Park, even in winter with show on the ground. Enjoy!
