Re: Hyalite Lake Trail6
After i left the lake, in may, 2007, i cant remember the date, i was on my way back down trail, there was still a lot of snow; i slipped, and hit my knee on a rock. Of course, the second time i went hiking alone, i then looked down and my right knee was gushing blood, i dont even recall hitting it that hard. I left the trail knowing the snowfield was too much for this, got off trail for about ten minutes, alone, in the middle of grizzly bear country in montana, in the gallatin national forest bleeding profusely and five miles from the trail head. I think its true that no one should hike alone, take that as a metaphor for what you will. i think i should get a cut for that public service announcement. A fun story now, but that was one of the most worrisome ten minutes of my life.
