My future wife and I camped under the pavilion on our Duncannon to Harpers Ferry hike in June 1979. I don't think the playground was there at the time. The park attendant was very gracious and even offered us a broom to sweep up before we put our bags down. However, a train passed by on the tracks just in front of the pavilion early in the morning and blew its horn, scaring the bejeezus out of us!

Yeah, went thru in 99 and found al the people there to be very cool and generous. Great place to relax for a while.
