    I love seeing the older shelters. This one sits right in the trail. There was a good campsite up above the shelter about 10 years ago.

    The Nantahala Hiking Club and the USFS just recently finished some much needed renovations to this shelter in November 2012. If you look closely you can see in my photo that the floor was partly missing. I can not remember about the campsite you speak of but I am sure it's still there, maybe not as nice as it was 10 years ago.
