Description by Groucho
Tapestry
-For Nelson
Autumn threads its slow
Burn through a forest
Loom-we spin
Into winter and my
Twenty-fourth year
The first without you
Brother, your last
Fall fringed in loose hung
Strings-I braid them now
Twist to yarn the quiet
Fire that brought you back
To dust.
This shuttle beats the rhythm
Of your heart. I'll
Lay the half done cloth
For wind to weave
Over mountain season
After season, after
Season

Sure looks alot nicer/warmer than the Katahdin Steam lean to I stayed in two snowy nights. What a cool memorial. The poem brought tears to my eyes, or is it to my soul?

Re: Bryant Ridge Shelter
helped build this in '92-joint Konnarock & BlueRidgeTimberframers...didn't even realise the story behind it until later.
