This is an old shelter. The floor is far from even and it is just 100 yards from a road. It is frequented by young party goers. The privy is good and to the left of the shelter. The "Devils Race Course" is 50 yard behind the shelter and is a river of boulders. If you get in the middle you can actually hear the undergound river. Tent sites are available prior to the .3 mile decent down the mountain as well as a nice site on the left just before you get to the shelter. Water is available from a sping to the right of the shelter as you are looking at it.

Spent a nice quiet night here on a April section hike, in 03. Nice spring to the right of shelter, if I remember correctly.
Shelter to be reclocated to the Tuscarora Trail and a new one to be built on AT, so you don't have the .3 mile decent. But I don't know when?:]
