I love that climb up to Buzzard Rocks. It's a leg-burner, good and steady. Then you bust out into the open with a great view.

I agree totally. You can feel it coming; all of a sudden the sky opens up, and the breeze kicks in, and you remember again why you're there (burning thighs notwithstanding). The best view I've come across on the trail so far. -

Sounds like you guys were NOT there in the snow, ice, frigid temps, and driving wind! LOL
Nice to see it in the sun, if only in a picture.

I actually liked the view up the cleared slope of Whitetop also. Nice place for a lunch break when the sun is out.
