On a saturday in May of 2002, I could hear the music from this great pub all the way up to Lovers Leap Rock, and as far as Pump Gap. This is perhaps my favorite trail town in the Southern section of the AT.

The Iron Horse Tavern, near the tracks by the river, is much more upscale but they were very nice to me at the conclusion of my section hike as I consumed a series of IPAs at the bar while I wrote in my journal before my ride picked me up a few hours later. Good food also!
