Three tea candles might get two cups of water hot enough for, well, tea. However, they will boil an ounce of water in my KMart grease pot. I'd cut the lip off the strainer, inverted it and put it in the bottom, turning the pot into a steamer. Mixed a couple of ounces of biscuit mix for my first test biscuit. Fifteen minutes preheat, drop in the dough in a cake cup. Fifteen minutes of cooking. Nice thing about tea candles is that you have plenty of simmer time.
The pot is wrapped with cotton clothes line for a bit of insulation. I've left a pot holder over the lid for the same reason.
