I bought a new Pentax Optio right before my trip and wasn't familiar with all the features, but it had a setting button to tell it what kind of pic I was taking (scenic, close-up, night) and it adjusted the settings itself. During the hike I was kicking myself for not spending more time getting familiar with the features of the camera, but still got a lot of great shots.
