Aprroximately 2.5 miles north of the Pogo Memorial Campsite in Maryland, the A.T. descends from the ridge line of South Mountain and continues north along the west side of the mountain. This is a view of the A.T. looking south at a point approximately 3.1 miles north of the Pogo Memorial Campsite. Now that the A.T. is below the top of the ridge line, the trail becomes level and less rocky. SoBo 1135.5. NoBo 1042.8.
