What's really amazing is that the nylon pack was close to "state of the art" at the time! We were really lucky that we didn't get any appreciable rain.

High Point Monument is at the northwestern corner of New Jersey and is on the highest point of land in the state. In '73 the AT went right by the monument, but today the monument is about half a mile off the AT on a blue-blaze.
