Description by The Old Fhart

The Old Fhart

January 1st, 1980 I climbed Mount Moriah in the clouds. As I got near the summit I came out above the cloud layer to a perfectly clear sky. The clouds filling the valley looked like a perfectly flat plain covered with snow but I didn't try walking on it!

Gorgeous. Simply gorgeous. The Old Fhart: you are very fortunate to live so close to such beauty. If there is an area of the Appalachian Trail (AT) I would recommend to experience its magesty, I would choose the Presidential Range of the White Mountains. The AT at times can be the proverbial long green tunnel through what seems like endless forest canopy. This place is different. Hikers, take your time here and enjoy.
