    So that's what it looks like up there! It was totally socked in with a moderate rain when I passed over on the second day of my LT SOBO thru-hike (August 1979).

    Trout Bum, it sounds like you're referring to the photo "Cookerhiker takes a mudbath" from the same hike of the LT. Happened around Hazen's Notch when I slipped off a log into the much. Took about 15 minutes of washing in the stream to clean it.
