A fleeting moment of beauty just before a thunderstorm came in. Taken from Bromley Mtn warming hut observation platform. Stayed there with a nice LT'er who shared her rum. Sipping dark rum, watching lighting flash, staying warm and dry with fleece socks on ...aah, life is good.

Sounds a lot like my experience atop Camels Hump during my LT SOBO thru-hike in August '79: perched atop Camels Hump sharing a big jug of Almaden white wine spiked with blueberries that a weekender who had lugged up, watching a thunderstorm move through Bolton Valley below us. Of course, once we realized that the lightning had a chance of hitting us we quickly scampered back to the relative safety of the old cabin that used to be north of the summit. -
