Hiked thru here in June 2013. Nuclear lake was the first place I heard a Loon on the trail. Kind of awesome to have that happen so close to the big City. -

Hmm, I didn't know there were loons in southern New York.I hiked by Nuclear lake on a March 31, 2001 dayhike, when the lake was frozen and I was postholing through 18-24" of snow in places. Very pretty in the winter.
