Antietam Creek East Branch, P A, 01/16/10

Approximately 0.1 mile south of the Antietam Shelter, the A.T. crosses the Antietam Creek East Branch. There are actually two footbridges which cross the Antietam Creek East Branch. The southern bridge connects the south bank to an island, and the northern bridge connects the island to the north bank. To the east of these two bridges is a third foot bridge which connects the north bank to the island where the Antietam Shelter is located. This a view of the southern footbridge looking north from the A.T. where Hooligan and Paddy waited for me. The northern footbridge can be seen to the upper right. SoBo 1117.1 NoBo 1062.0
