This is the beaver lodge located in a pond about 100 yards east of the Pine Swamp Brook Lean-to in CT. You can't see the lodge and pond from the shelter.

This photo was taken May 7, 2006. That evening Cascade & Mountain Dog camped at the shelter here. With the swamp so close to the shelter it doesn't surprise me that mosquitoes swarm this location during the summer months.
