Description by Irish Eddy
For northbounders, immediately after leaving Forge Park, the A.T. crosses Bucher Hill Road in Boiling Springs, PA. Just north of Bucher Hill and to the west of the trail is Children's Lake. This seven-acre body of water was formed by partially damming the brook fed from 30 natural springs. Children's Lake is home to many ducks, swans, and geese throughout the year. The lake dates to the 1750s when the dam was used to provide water power for iron production. This is a view of Children's Lake looking north from Bucher Hill Road. The trail can be seen to the right along the east shore of Children's Lake. SoBo 1067.4 NoBo 1111.9.
