Most hikers who travel to the Chicago Basin get a ride to the Needleton stop on the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. If you want to climb all the 14000' peaks of Colorado, Windom, Eolus, and Sunlight are reached from here. Here's engine #481 getting ready for the trip to Silverton and back.
