Description by michael rowlands
When I through hiked the trail in 1981 I bought this belt buckle in Harper's Ferry. I left instructions to please send it to me in my mail when I got to Monson, Maine. I then proceeded to carry this 4 ounces of dead weight through the Maine wilderness . [a ramin noodle weighs 4 ounces] A few of us through hikers went through the 100 miles to Baxter Park and each night we had a nice fire. I got out the belt buckle and passed it around the fire. This to this day it brings back memories of those last few days of the best time I had had till then in my life.
