kerosene, I'm almost positive this is White Clintonia, Clintonia umbellulata. My best reference, "Wildflowers in the Field and Forest" (S. Clemants & C. Gracie, Oxford U. Press, 2006) describes each flower in the umbel as having 6 petals and spotted with purple. The purple spots are noticeable in the large-size photo. -
