Lion's Head (1,738 feet) in Salisbury, CT has some of the greatest views in western Connecticut. This is the perfect spot if you love overviews and for this reason Lion's Head is a popular spot with the locals. Scramble up the trail on a clear day, and it'll seem like you can see half the state. The western part of Connecticut spreads out in front of you with the rolling Litchfield Hills south and southeast, Twin Lakes due east, Massachusetts north and northeast, and the surrounding mountainsides, farmland, woodlands, and small towns complete the foreground of the vista.
